Here you will find flapjacks, a recipe from the English kitchen. These sweet treats are also known as energy bars.
These delicious flapjacks are not only healthy, they also taste incredibly good. Historically, flapjacks , or energy bars , were made from oatmeal, butter and sugar and simple syrup in British families. They’re a bit reminiscent of a granola bar, but that’s something quintessentially British. Flapjacks are now also commercially available in other countries. Originally, this energy bar was taken along by the English as food for the journey.
Ingredients for our cookies
- 300g tender oat flakes
- 100g sugar
- 150g butter
- 20g maple syrup
- 50g quinoa
Conclusion Flapjacks (energy bars)
These traditional flapjacks are particularly juicy and somewhat reminiscent of an energy bar . Nevertheless, this has a very special consistency and tastes just as good as a dessert as for in between.
The preparation time of the flapjacks takes a maximum of 30 minutes and also tastes very good warm. A quickly made energy bar .
