These Swedish cinnamon rolls are always delicious pastries! Ideal for children’s birthday parties or for Easter! They always taste good!

Swedish cinnamon rolls – Where do these Swedish buns come from?

The Swedish cinnamon rolls are called Kanebullar in Sweden and were made around the year 1920. However, they only became well known in the post-war period, as flour, cinnamon, butter and sugar were very expensive in wartime.

In Sweden there is even a whole tag of Swedish cinnamon roll.  October 4th is Kanebulle Day. The reason for this is that the Swedes want to increase sales of yeast, flour, sugar and margarine on the one hand, and on the other hand they want to advocate more home-baked goods. Definitely a great idea!
